A Winter Evening with the Arts

On Tuesday, December 11th, Walkersville High School will be presenting an evening with the Arts. Every year, the school holds a winter/ fall art show to display all of the hard work student’s have created over the first term. This years show is quite the event and open to all interested in enjoying an art filled evening here at the school.

The art show will include students works from a variety of classes in the arts. The works will include pieces from Ceramics (Level 1, 2 and 3), Art ( 2 and 3D), Drawing and Painting, AP Studio, Digital Photography and Computer graphics.

Along with the art show, Tuesday will also be the National Art Honor Society (NAHS) induction. NAHS is a prestigious club at Walkersville, lead by Mrs. Susan Maseth. It is made up of  17 members total, 11 of which being new inductees. The induction will begin at 7:00 pm on the stage and invites all parents and supporters of members.

Music teacher, Mr. Loy, will also be having his students perform as guests view the gallery. The band will be made up of “a few pianist, brass, and violinist.” The band has been hard at work to put on a good show. Mrs. Maseth also commented that,” Ms. VanGilder Martin will also be joining the band with her carolers”.

Students who have taken art for the fall/ winter semester are excited for the opportunity for their work to be showcased. A well selected group of judges will be judging each class and level of art. After all awards are given student’s will be able to see who and what pieces placed in the show. Senior, Joanna Saimbre said, “ We’ve been working hard since the start of the school year,  I’m excited to see everyone’s work on display.”

Next Tuesday, join Walkersville High School for a beautiful evening with the Arts.
